The location
Ao Nang is Krabi’s jumping-off point — the beach, the longtail piers, the restaurants. The villa sits just outside it, in the green, where the limestone starts. Ten minutes gets you to dinner; nothing gets to you at night.
Times are by car or scooter. We can arrange an airport transfer, and scooter hire can be delivered to the villa.
Ao Nang Beach is the everyday one — a short ride, easy for a morning swim. Nopparat Thara, just north, is longer and quieter, and at low tide you can walk out to the islands. Railay, with the cliffs everyone photographs, is reachable only by longtail: twenty minutes from Ao Nang pier and worth doing early before the day boats arrive.
The night market behind the main strip is where to start — grilled seafood, som tam pounded to order, roti at the far end. Along the beach road the restaurants get more touristic and more expensive; a few streets inland is where the food gets better and cheaper. The four-island longtail tour is the classic and still good. Hong Island is further but quieter. Inland, the Emerald Pool and the hot springs make an easy half day, and the 1,237 steps up Tiger Cave Temple make a hard one — go at dawn, take water. We can arrange any of these with drivers we trust.
